Vegan Snack:
Corn Poha Chiwda
Ingredients:
2 cups corn poha( available in Indian stores)
I will give the recipe using corn flakes( cereal) soon
1 cup pressed rice ( poha)
1/3 cup Channa dal ( soaked in 1 cup of water for 1/2 hour
1/3 cup peanuts( deep fried in oil)
1/3 cup cashew nuts ( deep fried in oil)
1/3 cup curry leaves ( deep fried in oil)
1tsp red chilli powder
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp chaat masala
Oil for deep frying
Method :
1.Take a mixing bowl
2. Heat up the oil in a kadai, when the oil is hot ( to check add a piece of corn flake in oil and it pops out and comes on top)
3. Add the cornflakes to oil and fry in batches. Remove with a slotted spoon and add to the mixing bowl
4. Deep fry the poha in oil and remove with a slotted spoon and add to the mixing bowl
5. Drain the Channa dal in a colander.deep fry in oil till crispy and add to the mixing bowl
6. Add the deep fried cashew nuts, peanuts, curry leaves
7. Add salt to taste, red chilli powder,chaat masala and mix well
8. Cool and store in air tight containers
9. Serve any time
10. But excellent with piping hot Tabla’s masala chai?
